A bigger purpose: “misery into ministry”
Whatever inclinations you have, as long as they make your life productive and full, they have a purpose. Whatever experiences you went through, including sufferings in life, they all add up to fulfill a bigger purpose.
Once I heard a priest share his story. His name is Fr. Daniel Alkory.
He grew up in Iraq as a refugee. On his 17th birthday, which was a special day in his culture, he spent it running from bomb threats and warring encounters in their area.
When he became a priest, he felt that he was called to serve displaced families brought by war, specifically in Iraq.
He said, “My misery became my ministry.”
“Ministry into message”
You may already be clear about your passion, and have even started to serve in a ministry or in an outreach program, but how are you doing in communicating about your ministry?
Are you able convince people to help you or to sign up as members?
Often there is a difficulty in convincing people because there is a lack of inspiration — and inspiration needs a vehicle and that is your message.
